Time to dust off the cobwebs engulfing my blog and bring you up to speed with my life and where I’m headed. I’ve taken the last 2 months out from blogging to focus on finishing my University Degree and now that i’m free of education it’s time for us to have a chat and get back into the swing of things. So grab yourself a cuppa and some biscuits.
The first thing which I’m sure you’ve noticed is that Katie Lauren has had a glow up, by that I mean the blog (most definitely not myself, sadly). I’ve took some time to re-design this page to ensure it really reflects myself and the content I produce. I’m so much happier with the way it looks and happy with creating a more defined niche. Content wise, not a lot is changing other than specialising in travel and lifestyle content, offering a more ‘budget-friendly’ perspective on travel and life in general. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good bargain?
I have also taken the time to devise a new regular upload schedule, this means new content will be uploaded every Sunday at 12pm (BST). Don’t miss an upload again by subscribing to the blog for email updates as and when new blog posts go live (sign up using your email in the right hand side bar).
After 3 long years, an 8,000 word dissertation and many stressful moments, I have finally completed my University degree! Although I never expected my time in education to end like this, I am so proud of myself and all the students right now for making what seemed impossible, very much possible.
A University friend of mine, Maddy wrote a very accurate portrayal of what it feels like for the class of 2020 to finish University during the COVID-19 pandemic; ‘The Book‘. Whether you’re a student graduating 2020, a friend or a parent, this rendition puts into perspective how impactful the situation has been on our University experience.
Since completing my studies during a period of lockdown in the UK, I’ve had the free time sit at home and pursue something I have always wanted to do… launching my own business! Albeit small, it’s a starting point and I am excited to see the growth.
‘Ruby Aurora’ is my new homeware brand, selling personalised wall prints (incl. travel-inspired prints) and heading on to sell handcrafted macramé items. The ambition is to sell a whole host of home decor, but for now we’re starting off small. All the support I can get with Ruby Aurora is greatly appreciated! You’re able to support Ruby Aurora on my blog using the ‘shop‘ button on the top menu, or via Etsy.
Thank you for your constant support on the blog, I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things with more travel and lifestyle content starting next Sunday!
