During a moment of spontaneity I decided to jump on the band wagon and book a £99 mystery holiday with Wowcher! I had seen so much stuff on Twitter with super divided opinions on the experience, so what better way to answer your questions by trying it yourself? I’ve since found out my mystery destination is…
VENICE! 🛶 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
… and I’m more than happy with the fact I can eat pizza for 4 days straight🍕. Albeit a place I’ve visited before, it’s always been a place I’ve said I would go back to in a heartbeat so I’m super glad to be going back in October with my boyfriend! Which perfectly coincides with celebrating my 21st birthday, could it get any better?🤷🏼♀️🥰 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In terms of my experience with booking the mystery holiday though Wowcher… I would give the pre-holiday experience a 8/10. The people at Weekender Breaks are super helpful with finding something that’s perfect for you. The draw is random, but the first question they ask is if you’ve been there before. If you have, they suggest an alternative destination and find suitable dates.
This is where it can get extremely stressful, trying to find the perfect dates/ flight times. They do try to upsell a few different things e.g. better flight times to have longer in the country, better hotels or extra night stays which is expected and sometimes a good deal. It’s completely up to you if you take them up on the offer. We chose to pay an extra £30 for 3 nights instead of 2, as that’s a bargain really! ⠀⠀⠀
I’d 100% recommend the £99 Wowcher holiday because I mean no matter where you get selected, £99 for flights and a minimum of two nights somewhere is so so cheap and worthwhile! ⠀⠀⠀
