Blogging is strongly misinterpreted as being as easy as writing something and just posting it on the internet. That my friend, is far from the case. Other bloggers will definitely agree with me that there’s so much work that goes on behind the scenes for the production of a blog post, from planning stages through to sharing the post, months after it was uploaded! Using the following apps are a great way to make pre-production through to post-production 95% easier.
Twitter – Twitter is definitely my favourite must have app! It’s the perfect social media site to share your blog posts, interact with readers/followers and gain blogger opportunities. A huge majority of my blog readers come from Twitter, so hello to those who are reading this
Instagram – Similar to Twitter, Instagram is great for blog promotion once your post is live. You can show off your cute flatlay images with other Instagram lovers.
WordPress – Conditional as to whether your site is hosted by WordPress or not but it’s a great app to keep up-to-date. Replying to comments, checking in on daily statistics or creating draft posts when you have a blog post ideas randomly come to you throughout the day.
Pintrest – Admitidly, I am a newbie to Pinterest, still trying to get the hang of things. Most bloggers rave about how amazing Pintrest is for gaining blog views so I thought it’d be a great app to include on this post.
Airbrush – I take my blog images on my phone so this is my go-to app for editing images. This is by far the best free editing app i’ve come across, it has all the features you might want such as whitening, blurring, acne removal, filters, general adjustments etc. The only downside is that you can’t add on text if you wish (but we’ll get onto this next).
Canva – You may have used the desktop version of Canva before, i’ve used this to create my media kit, blog post feature photos and my logo. I didn’t know until a little while ago there was a Canva mobile app, this make it so much easier to create pinterest images for my blog posts and any other images I want to edit. Download canva here.
Hootsuite – If you’ve got other commitments alongside blogging, it means you can’t spend 24/7 on Twitter. But we can make it look like it right?! As I said earlier, Twitter is great for promoting blog posts, scheduling tweets to share your blog posts helps massively to maintain your blog views when you’re having an ‘off day’ from blogging.
Hashtagger – People think hashtags are cringey on Instagram #wrong. Hashtags are great, they work amazingly to connect the correct people to your uploads. It can be difficult knowing which are the correct hashtags to use, but the hashtagger app does all that for you. Search relating key words to your post and it will filter the top 30 hashtags that relate to your search, these are the best hashtags to use on your Instagram uploads to increase engagement.
Word.docs – The perfect place for any on the go blog writing or planning!
Google Analytics – Although statistics are not the be all and end all for blogging, they are great method of seeing how well posts are received, where your best engagements is coming from and what your demographic is.
There are plenty more apps that are helpful for blogging, but these are the ones I tend to use the most and believe others would also benefit from.
