Skin care routines can be the best and most annoying things ever. When you’re ready to jump into bed but you’ve got to cleanse, tone and moisturise it can be quite a chore. But as soon as you have a nasty spot appear, we worship skincare in the hope it’ll get rid of our new little frenemy. Today’s post is guested by the lovely Nati who talks you through some of the products that are at her fingertips during a breakout, having read this I feel like I definitely need a shopping splurge at The Body Shop!
Hi there! I’m Nati and you can find my blog at www.naticreates.com.
I often write about self care and self love, two things which I’m a huge advocate for. I believe that skincare – whilst effective – is also a wonderful way to take time for yourself.
I find that having a short but refreshing skincare routine in both the morning and the evening really helps my overall mood, productivity and – unsurprisingly – my skin!
I’m so excited to share with you the products that I go to when my skin is breaking out and getting particularly oily. I’ve made a fairly extensive list so that you’ve got a couple to choose from/try out, rather than a step-by-step routine. Let’s face it (no pun intended), we all know exactly how we actually like to do our own skincare!
Glossier Super Pure Serum
As the name suggests, this heavenly serum with leave you with skin as pure as the Glossier branding and marketing. Think fun, minimalistic and self love-focused.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar 3 Step Anti-Blemish System
Even though this is a three-step routine, I promise it takes less than five minutes and is 100% worth it. Made up of a cleanser, toner and moisturiser (which works unexpectedly well on oily skin), this package has got you sorted.
LUSH’s Mask of Magnaminty
This facemask smells like mint-choc-chip ice cream heaven. It feels unbelievably refreshing on the skin and, by using it 2 or 3 times per week, you’ll see far less irritation and redness in no time!
LUSH’s Grease Lighting
This fierce little bottle packs a great punch. Apply directly to your spots and like lightning (I had to) they’ll be gone before you know it!
The Body Shop’s Himalayan Charcoal Mask
If you like a mask that you can feel working on your skin, this is the mask for you. Apply once or twice a week (it’s pretty intense). It unclogs and minimises your pores, whilst getting rid of any shine to let your skin glow.
Kiehl’s Breakout Control Targeted Blemish Spot Treatment
If you’re looking to zap a zit overnight, this is the potion for you. It genuinely works within hours and, not only does it dry out and get rid of blemishes, it also minimises scarring. Double win.
I hope you find this post helpful and that at least one of these products boosts your confidence like it’s boosted mine!
